Day 1
Depart Singapore’s Keppel Road station in the morning for the Malaysian border. The scenery changes from a busy city skyline to gentle countryside. On board, lunch is served in one of the opulent dining cars. As day turns to night, you can relax and unwind in the Bar Car while being entertained by the resident pianist. As you roll into Kuala Lumpur’s Moorish style station, take the opportunity to disembark and stretch your legs.
Day 2
As you travel towards Butterworth, breakfast is served in your cabin. From Butterworth you will be taken on a local ferry ride to island city of Penang. Walk through the historical sites of this city and visit the bazaars and local markets. Return to the Eastern & Oriental Express for lunch and head off for Thailand.
Day 3
Pull into the River Kwai station after breakfast and disembark for the Kwai Yai river cruise. The cruise passes under the Bridge while a local historian gives and overview of the Thailand-Burma history. You will also be taken to visit the North Temple at the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre. Rejoin the E&O at Kanchanaburi station for lunch and your final destination, Bangkok. Disembark at Bangkok station, transfer to your hotel.
Day 4
At leisure until time for check out and transfer to the airport for your onward bound flight.
