Essence of Malaysia Tour

Day 1

Arrive in Kuala Lumpur - Private Taxi Transfer from Airport to your choice of Hotel. Rest of day at leisure to relax and unwind after your International flight. Your Hotel can recommend various eating places within an easy walking distance.

Day 2

After breakfast get an overview of the city from the KL Hoponhopoff Bus.

KL HOP-ON HOP-OFF is a free and easy city tour that has 22 stops which cover more than 40 attractions. All buses are equipped with nine (9) different languages to choose from and a friendly customer service officer will assist you on the bus.

If you are keen on a nature walk then this tour is for you. You will enjoy the lush greenery and fresh air within FRIM. The Forest Institute of Malaysia is located in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur

Mid afternoon return to Hotel

Rest of day and evening at leisure or take your last chance to explore KL’s shopping malls, cafes and restaurants. Pavilion, Lot 10, Star Hill and KLCC are all within reasonable walking distance from your Hotel.

Check out after breakfast and say farewell to Kuala Lumpur.

1. Nazlina’s Cooking Class

Self-taught cook, the delightful Nazlina Hussin provides the cooking classes, allowing you to experience cooking in traditional Malay style.

There are no canned or packet ingredients here — you even straddle a traditional coconut scraper to extract the flesh of the coconut and squeeze it by hand to make coconut milk.

Nazlina guides you through the process of making a seriously tasty menu of seafood curry, stir-fried flat rice noodles with prawns and a dessert called bubur cha-cha.

The menu will change from time to time subject to the availability of fresh produce.

Then comes the best part —       sitting down to sample the culinary offerings.

You have now made your own Malaysian lunch.

2. Visit to Penang Butterfly Farm - This is a great half day Tour for Children and Adults, there is plenty to see and do and the whole experience is very interactive.

You'll find great variety of wonderful butterflies, but also insects, ducks, lizards, flowers and large carp.

At the entrance you can see racks of pupae and there's a reasonable chance that you'll be able to watch a butterfly hatch.

The 'hide and seek' area with stick insects and other plasmids is a recent addition and is suitably yucky.

Inside, there are some very nice live beetles in tanks as well as a large collection of preserved insects and spiders

There's a small charge for cameras and camcorders, but prices always seem pretty reasonable.

Certainly great for a half-day outing and you should get some memorable photographs.

Or 3. Relax in the morning and depart at 11.am for Back Road Tour of Penang - This tour focuses on the unspoilt Southern part of Penang Island

Drive an hour out of down town George Town and discover unspoilt nature, local fishing villages, organic farming, and padi fields.

The traditional way of country life can be seen and fully experienced on this journey to the other side of Penang Island.

Tour includes lunch, local snack, and beach side sunset dinner.

Late return to hotel – rest of evening at leisure.

Day 7

Depart your hotel after breakfast - private taxi transfer to Penang International Airport.
