Taman Negara Challenge


Difficulty Rating: 4/5- An alternative entrance to Taman Negara located on the western side of the park boundaries, the Merapoh route to Gunung Tahan takes a mere 2 days in comparison to the Kuala Tahan route. The trip includes a 4 wheel drive journey and lots of trekking once you reach Kuala Juram. This trip requires a high level of fitness and endurance.

 

Itinerary :

DAY 01

Meet in Merapoh. ETD 2.00PM transfer to Park Entrance. Check in to accommodation. Trekking around base camp. (D)

DAY 02

14km by 4 wheel drive to Kuala Juram. Start trekking from here. Overnight in tent at chosen location depending on walking speed. (Basic meals)

DAY 03

Trek over an 11km trail up to the summit. Expect to be on the top by the evening. Set-up camp at Lata Luis for the night. (Basic meals)

DAY 04

The return route the next day is also over 11km back where again you will set-up camp for the night. (Basic meals)

DAY 05

Return to Kuala Juram and expect to arrive in the afternoon. Transfer by 4 wheel drive to Sg. Relau Park Entrance. Transfer back to Merapoh town. (Basic meals)
